Members of the Dorsey family practiced law in the county for generations.
No date Draft of a petition to the Orphans' Court. Helen Thomas was guardian for James W. Thomas. James and his brothers, Edward M. and Henry B. Thomas were tenants in common in the property known as Deep Falls by will of James Walter Thomas. It was a large farm and the house contained much valuable furniture and art. Henry Thomas had spent about $17,000 to improve the property. All three tenants in common wanted to mortgage the property. The guardian said it would be to the advantage of her ward to do that and asked the court to authorize the same.
