Members of the Dorsey family practiced law in the county for generations.
John T. Somerville of Loveville did a brisk trade with York Corrugating Co. for guttering in the 1920s. There are several invoices as examples. He paid promptly, but in 1926, he started having trouble keeping up with his bill. In January, 1927, he owed $520.47 and the company wanted their money. The amount was put out for collection and ended up with Mr. Dorsey. Dorsey did not pursue Mr. Somerville to the satisfaction of the collection agency, for they sent Dorsey several cajoling letters. However, there is nothing in the file to show how the case was settled. Mr. Somerville also owed Anderson & Ireland $8; that was sent to court, but no resolution is in the file.Collection
