22"h x 14 3/4"w drawing of a 28' x 30' house for Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Dean to be built near Hollywood, Md.
This is a pencil and ruler drawing at a scale of 1/4"=1'. It is accompanied by the contractor's statement. The house would be stick built with asbestos siding and sheetrock interior. The front porch would have a cement floor and be screened; the back porch would have a wood floor and be screened. The plumbing fixtures were to be of average grade. A well, pump house, pump, and a gas hot water heater were included in the price of $6,325.
There was no mention of a furnace. There was a living room with a space heater, two bedrooms, a kitchen, and a bath. At the other end of the sheet, ninety degrees to the floor plan, was a sketch of the exterior of the house focussed on the front porch elevation. The three bay porch had a gable roof with the gable end facing the viewer. The four panel entry door was in the center of the house and porch with a pair of twelve light windows on each side of the door. As drawn, the walls of the house look more like brick than asbestos shingles. There are a few notes about the roof and porch material.Collection
