This precise pencil drawing was on heavy paper folded in half with additional drawings inside.
The full brick building had a high basement with windows and two full floors with large windows. It had a central entry way with heavy art deco style pilasters around the double glass door. There was an uncovered porch with knee walls. Centered on the pediment above the door was a cross. In the lower right corner are two white balloons "St. Mary's Academy const. 1939" and "Jh 2008"
On the inside fold are five drawings on the bottom half and brief text on the upper half. Text "St. Mary's Academy constructed 1936, not 1939."
The center of the five drawings shows a soldier kneeling to place the star on a tiny Christmas tree. An American flag is near his back foot. A black band under him says, "My country 'tis of thee" and below that "Saluting our military: Hall Barber Bentley Harding Melvin" and under that, the name of the artist "Jaye."
In the upper left corner is a drawing of a purple heart with text: "Stand down soldiers, your mission is complete" "Pvt. Raymond J. Faulstich, Jr. Cpl. Matthew P. Wallace Sgt. Ryan P. Baumann"
In the upper right corner is a small angel with a trumpet and text below "Weylin Burt Anderson II October 20, 2008"
In lower right corner is the logo of the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs
In lower left corner is a drawing of the reconstructed Blackistone Lighthouse with text "Blackistone Lighthouse again"Collection
