3 3/8"h x 4 1/4"w black and white photo of Drury and Saunders store on the corner of Jefferson Avenue and Maryland Route 245, aka Hollywood Road. Washington Street was across Jefferson toward Leonardtown. Jefferson Avenue was eventually turned into the Maryland Route 5 bypass of Leonardtown. The building was clapboard rectangular two story with a gable roof with a cornice return. The gable end faced Route 245. There was a shed roof one story addition on the long side of the building. There was a single small chimney just back from the roof peak of the gable end. There was a single six over six double hung window in the second story of the gable end. There were two similar windows on the long wall of the second story. In the addition, there was a single window on the long wall and a single large window on the street side. A three bay porch with a hipped roof covered most of the street side of the building. There was a double entry door barely visible in the shade of the porch and there may have been one window. The porch floor was a single step above the ground. The rather forlorn looking building was awaiting demolition to facilitate street widening.
