Description

4"h x 5 7/8"w color photo of a fireplace on the second floor of the east wing of the White House at the former Charlotte Hall School. The small firebox is tucked into an alcove in a room with white plaster walls, dark plank flooring and a two light sconce on the wall. All the brick in the fireplace is exposed, which probably not the way it was originally, and a wooden mantle has been put in place about two feet above the firebox. There is no furniture visible in the room. ********************************** Text on verso: in black ink "2nd floor new floor old fireplace White House" and pale gray stamps for Kodak paper
