Description

4"h x 5 7/8"w color photo of a fireplace and room on the second floor of the east wing of the White House at the former Charlotte Hall School. The small firebox is tucked into an alcove in a room with white plaster walls, dark plank flooring and a radiator under a window. All the brick in the fireplace is exposed, which probably not the way it was originally, and a wooden mantle has been put in place about two feet above the firebox. There is no furniture visible in the room. There is a six over six double hung window on the left and another in the center right in a dormer. Each window has an electric candle on the windowsill. The walls on the right slope into the room somewhat; the house has a gambrel roof. ********************************** Text on verso: in black ink "White House 2nd floor east wing 2005" and pale gray stamps for Kodak paper
