Description

8"h x 10"w landscape oriented black and white photo of the schoolchildren at Ebenezer School. The photo is an enlargement of the original; we do not have the original. The chalkboard identifies the school and adds "Feb 22, 23," perhaps the year is 1923. Twenty-two students are visible. The teacher is a young man in the back row. On his right is a young man in a military uniform. No one looks happy. There are large windows with shutters in the wall behind the group. ************************************ Text on verso: in black ball point pen "Ebenezer School Bottom row (Left to right) 1st row L to R Harvey Pegg Melvin Louden Alex Norris Maurice Martin 2nd row L to R Ralph Pegg Jennie Combs Leona Pegg Mary Norris 3rd row L to R Catherine Louden Catherine Dean Helen Pegg Loretta Combs Alberta Combs Mamie Dean Marie Norris Minnie Combs Elizabeth Norris (absent) 4th row L to R Hiltrude Combs Edith Combs John Gamble James Greenwell (Teacher) Milton Louden Fannie Dean Agnes Norris"
