Edwin Beitzell and an unidentified African-American womanEntry/Object ID
1985.002.0345Description
Overexposed photo of Mr. Beitzell on the right and a very elderly black woman on the left. The picture was taken outside in front of a cedar tree and a large bush. There are no leaves on the bush, so it is probably either a warm winter day or a day in early spring. Judging by the shadows, it is a sunny day.
Mr. Beitzell appears to have on a plaid long sleeve shirt and plaid pants and a dark belt. He is wearing a tie. He is also wearing a light colored beret. He has on leather tie shoes that appear to be very dusty. He is smiling broadly.
The woman comes to about Mr. Beitzell's shoulder and is thin. She has on very dark framed glasses. She has on a close fitting light colored hat that has a fabric flower or a bow in the back. It may even be a scarf tied in back. Her hair is barely visible under the hat. She has on a long sleeved coat in a flowered material that buttons up the front, but only the collar button is fastened. The sleeves appear to have a cuff and buttons, but they are not fastened. There may be puffy pockets on the coat. She also has on a knee length skirt and a blouse and appears to be wearing cotton stockings or long underwear. In her right hand she is holding a very stout cane and her left hand is resting at her waist. She has on dark plastic boots that fold over the instep and fasten with a loop over a button. She does not have on gloves. Her hands appear to be quite large in comparison to the rest of her. Sadly, there is no identification of this woman.Collection
