5 1/2"h x 3 7/8"w deep sepia tone photo of Elizabeth Blackistone Dent Fenwick. She presented a 3/4 view for the photo and there is a vague suggestion of trees in the background. Ms. Dent had on a, to our eyes, strange white hat that somewhat resembled a bird's wing. It appears to have been made largely of feathers. The hat had no brim and fit her head much like a cap. She had on a white v-necked bodice with a sailor collar that was laid over a heavy dark double breasted coat with its own sizable collar. The turn back cuffs had darker velvet trim. Her hands, in white gloves, lay in her lap with a small handbag. Her jacket probably nearly reached mid-thigh when she stood. The skirt was dark, but little of it was visible.
