5 1/8"h x 3 3/8"w black and white photo of a closeup photo of the framed portrait of Elizabeth Marshall Forbes. She was at a slight angle to the painter. She had on an elaborate white bonnet with lace closest to her hair. A few dark curls lay on her forehead. She had clear eyes, a generous nose, and a slight smile. Her dress had puffed sleeves and a lace overlay on the bodice. Her collar was two layers of ruffled material. There is a dark shadow on the right edge of the image, but it does not impinge on Mrs. Forbes' face.
