Enlargement of Leonardtown SquareEntry/Object ID
1995.001.1786Description
This is a black and white photocopy of a substantially enlarged photo of the town square in the early days. The square was left to be tall weeds enclosed by a wrought iron fence. On the left was the Hotel St. Mary's, mostly obscured by trees. Mr. Fenwick said the next large building was an agricultural implement dealer and the little house was the Saint Mary's Reading and Debating Society headquarters. The only visible vehicle was a truck backed up to the implement dealership. The road was not paved.
