Black and white 3 1/2"h x 3 1/2"w photo of Eyrie on Chesapeake Bay near Hermanville. This is a gable roof house with a steep pitch. There is a gable roof one story addition whose roofline parallels that of the main house. The addition is attached to the house on the chimney end and comes to a peak between the windows that are between the chimneys. In the main house, there are two dormers on the roof with nine over nine double hung windows. The pair of outside end chimneys with egg-shaped corbels is between the main house and the addition. On the gable end of the house is one window up in the peak that is nine over nine; a much larger window than that found in most houses. On the same level as the dormers are two nine over nine double hung windows and on the first floor just one nine over nine window is visible at the corner of the building. The wall in which the window is placed is of brick, but the triangle formed by the roof and the eaves is of clapboard. There are two nine over nine windows on the long face of the house, plus a door with a four light transom. It is two steps above the ground. In the additions, there are three windows with the shutters closed, but they are hidden behind a bush. On the gable end is at least one square window on the first floor and maybe another in the roof peak. The clapboards are either dirty or in need of paint.
