Tintype 3 5/8"h x 2 3/8"w reputed to be of Fenwick and John Herbert, young sons of Alice Carmel Fenwick. Why the last name is Herbert is not explained. On the left is Fenwick standing with his left arm on the high chair occupied by his younger brother John. Fenwick has dark hair parted on his right and combed to the left. He has a rather square face. He has on a dark long sleeved jacket with a small collar. The jacket buttons down the center front with five buttons. The sleeves are beginning to be too short for Fenwick. He has on high boots that seem to have criss-cross laces. The smaller boy also has dark hair parted on the right and combed to the left and he, too, has a rather square face. He is wearing a lighter coat , possibly of a plaid fabric and it may have a sailor collar. He has on a light colored dress, medium color leggings and dark boots that do not seem to be laced all the way to the ankle. His feet are hanging below the foot support and the right foot is crossed over his left. There are pieces of equipment behind each child that may be braces to hold their heads and shoulders still for the photo. They each look stiff and uncomfortable. The background behind the boys is plain. This piece was in the lower left of page 3 of the dark red photograph album.Collection
