Fenwick family on an outingEntry/Object ID
1995.001.0905Description
Black and white photo 5"h x 7"w of a Fenwick family outing at Tolson's Hotel in Piney Point. The group is seated on the edge of the porch and in chairs on the porch and a group of men is standing behind the others. A window with shutters open, a window with shutters closed, and a double door are visible in the clapboard building behind them. There is a wrought iron bench back there as well. Mr. Fenwick attached a sheet identifying as many people as he could. Front row seated L-R: Cuthbert I. Fenwick, Louis B. Fenwick, in chair Tom Sanderson, others are hotel guests; Middle row L-R: Aloysius F. Fenwick with Allie, Jr. on his lap, Nannie Greenwell Fenwick his wife, Lillian Norris wife of Jim Norris; Standing row L-R: 2 hotel guests, William G. Fenwick of Allie and Nannie, Jim Norris, hotel guest, Camilous Howard, hotel guests. In additional remarks, Mr. Fenwick listed the Fenwick children: William G. born 1897, Louis B. born 1899, Cuthbert I. born 1901, Allie. Jr. born 1905, Norbert born 1908, Charles born 1910. Considering this photo, Mr. Fenwick said Allie, Jr. was old enough to travel, but Norbert was probably home with the orphan girl, Edith Hazeltine and Charles was not born. This would suggest the picture was taken in 1909 or early 1910. This piece was on the lower half of page 12 of the dark red photograph album.Collection
