1995.001.1624Description
Black and white 8"h x 10"w photo of fire truck, possibly a pumper. It is displayed at an angle on the driveway across three bays of the Leonardtown Volunteer Fire Department building. The truck has two axles with double tires on the rear. It has a passenger door and there may be room for passengers in a second row, but there is no direct access on the visible side. The name plate of the brand of truck is visible, but not legible. There is a siren in the center of the hood, a brass bell by the passenger door , small red lights at the corners of the windshield , and a red dome light in the center of the roof above the windshield. There is a handle immediately aft of the passenger door for a firefighter to stand on the running board. There are several water valves on the side of the truck and a capstan on the running board. The bed of the truck appears to be open. An extension ladder hangs on this side of the truck bed and a piece of hose is stashed under it. There are revolving hose carriers above the ladder in the bed of the truck. Lettering on the side identifies this apparatus as Engine No. 5 . Lettering on the hood says "Leonardtown Vol. Fire Dept. Leonardtown, MD." There is no text on the verso.Collection
