First Communion procession 1Entry/Object ID
2016.009.0016Description
3 1/2"h x 2 1/2"w black and white photo of children processing to church for their first communion. Older children were leading the way, followed by pairs of white boys and girls, all with their hands clasped in prayer. A Sister of Charity came next, followed by African-American children with their hands clasped in prayer. Altar boys followed those children. All the children wore white clothes and shoes and the girls wore small veils. There were lots of adults standing around, probably taking pictures such as this one.
