5 7/16"h x 3 7/16"w postcard with a vertical orientation. The black and white image is 3 7/16"h and 4 5/8"w, leaving a small space at the bottom for the title and publication details. The viewer was standing directly in front of the building. It was a single story brick building that appeared to be very narrow with a porch. The pediment over the porch was dark and had raised classical motifs facing the viewer. There were three brick round columns supporting that roof. Each column was topped with an Ionic capital. There was a dark double door on the right, topped with a half round window with a sunburst of leaded glass. To the left was a single almost square light with the same sunburst window above. An awning had been installed at some point to ward off the morning sun. The door was three steps above the dirt street. There was no sidewalk. On the verso was the typical center divider between the mailing address and the message. This card was addressed to Miss Lucie Loker in Valley Lee, without a message. In the upper left corner was the eagle, shield, arrows, and olive branch all in brown ink. The card had not been posted. It was published by L. A. Jones & Son.Collection
