Footbridge at Valley LeeEntry/Object ID
2001.001.0007Description
The front of this postcard is a green-toned photograph of a footbridge at Valley Lee, Maryland. The simple bridge has a railing on one side and one step between the bridge deck and the ground. It is not possible to tell if it crosses a stream or a small pond. There are no people in the photograph. On the right edge of the photograph is "Bridge at Valley Lee, Md." perpendicular to the image. On the verso, on the left edge, there is in red print: 64807 Published for G.A. Tippett, Valley Lee, Md. Printed in Germany. The card is bisected by a red line. To the left of the line it says, "This space may be used for correspondence," and on the right, "For address only." The postmark is Beauvue, Md. on November 27, 1908 and a green Benjamin Franklin 1 cent stamp was sufficient postage. The card was from Aunt Lucie to Dwight Kilbourne of Stewartstown, Pa.Collection
