Description

8" x 10" sepia tone photo of a house on Fox Point on Breton Bay. The house was right next to the water and the photographer has captured a mirror image of the house in the water. A high tide would have been a serious problem for this family. The house appears to be a large rectangle with an addition at a right angle facing the photographer. Each part of the clapboard house had a gable roof. There was a large dormer in the main house with probably four sets of paired windows and a small dormer on each side of the addition with one set of paired windows. There was a pair of windows in the gable end of the main house and a single window in the gable end of the addition. A closed shed roof covered a screened porch at each end of the main house. On the first floor, only one set of paired windows was visible on the long side, but there was a pair of windows on the first floor gable end of the addition, a single window, an entry door and a small square window next to that door. The propane tanks were near the door. There was a low bulkhead between the house and the water. On the right side of the photo were trees and possibly a large pile of sand. There was a car in front of the porch. This was a big house. ******************************************* Text on verso: in blue ink "Foxes Point?" and a piece of paper taped on one corner "Mr. Charles R. Moore Leonardtown, MD. 1932 model car in driveway Foxes Point, Md. in remodeling house -- found this photograph under linoleum May 24, 1972"
