1 sheet ; 7 5/8" h x 4 7/8" w This is buff stationery with pale blue lines to guide the writer. In this fragment, George Hayden asked his mother to remember him to several friends and relatives, especially his aunt, Katherine Burch. He is scornful of reports that the Confederate Army is losing or falling back and says many prisoners have recently been brought in. [Hayden was probably still in or near Richmond] He mentions the second battle of Bull Run in the context of more prisoners. A transcription of the fragment is included.
