2017.016.0003Description
8 1/2" x 11" copy of a sketch of the Fulton-Abell Store in Compton. It was a typical two story gable roof building with a large shed roof porch and a central entry to the store on the first floor and living quarters on the second floor. There were two gas pumps on the left corner of the building and a kerosene tank. There was a large cooler on the porch to the left of the door and a bench on the right. There were two not very large double hung windows on each floor. The single chimney was on the back of the roof and to the left of center. The store was at the corner of Newtown Neck Road and Bayside Road. The location has morphed into Cryer's, a bar and restaurant. There is a ball field on another corner.
