3"h x 3 7/8"w black and white photo of the Gardiner-Yowaiski mill in Chaptico. The mill operated until 1962. This photo shows the massive three and a half story building with a gable roof. The building was built into a hill, so it had an exposed basement on three sides. There was a large window in the roof peak of the gable end, but all the glazing was gone. There were three six over six windows on each floor of the gable end; in the basement was a door on the left and two windows on the right. Just below the third floor windows was a "Wayne Feeds" sign. Near the corner closest to the photographer was some sort of venting hood. On the long side of the building there were five six over six windows on each floor. Most of the glazing was gone. The basement had a double center door flanked by two windows on each side. A large shed roof covered the doorway. Much of the siding had started to peel away. The building had a generally neglected air.
