Mr. Knight lived as a child in Petersburg, Virginia, but returned to Leonardtown, Maryland with his parents as a young man. He was a writer. He wrote songs, fiction, how-to booklets, a full length book and was a publisher of his own work and the work of a few others. He wrote thousands of news stories for local and regional newspapers and marketed his work all over the country. He maintained ties to Petersburg, VA, so some of this correspondence reflects that. One folder contains examples of his correspondence about Saint Mary's County history, one of his abiding interests. One folder contains two silhouettes of Mr. Knight done by Carolyn Browning.Collection
