Mr. Knight lived as a child in Petersburg, Virginia, but returned to Leonardtown, Maryland with his parents as a young man. He was a writer. There are samples of his fiction and newspaper stories from 1926-1956. His interest in the history of Saint Mary's County resulted in many news accounts and a full-length book--Intimate Glimpses of Old St. Mary's. The early news stories and serial fiction were carefully pasted in composition books. A scrapbook of material about the publication of Intimate Glimpses ... and Mr. Knight's attempts to market his book was in deplorable condition and had to be dismantled. Selections from the scrapbook were retained.Collection
