Description

8"h x 10 5/8"w black and white photocopy of a photo. There is no date for the photo. This shows the text block of the marker for George Thomas. This square block had text on one side and sat on two support stones; each tapered up like a hipped roof. Both support stones had smooth sides and sharp corners. The side of the upper support stone that faced the camera said "Geo. Thomas" in quite large raised letters. The text on the larger stone was easier to read once it had been cleaned. Besides the name and dates, it said, "This monument is erected by a bereaved and sorrowing wife." This is at the cemetery at Deep Falls. ********************************** Text on verso: none
