German troopships in the Patuxent River 2Entry/Object ID
2015.007.0002Description
Digital scan of a 6 5/8" h x 8 1/2" w black and white aerial photo of four German troopships mothballed in the Patuxent River on the Calvert county side not far from Point Patience. They were rafted together bow to stern, bow to stern. The ships were ultimately refitted and used by the United States during World War II. This copy has "13B" in white in the lower left corner of the image. It is tempting to think the white object in the upper left corner was a blimp.
