From WWII [sic] 1934 Pictures found in a Car Wash, trash can by owners who mailed them to St. Mary's Co. Chamber of Commerce I [Mr. Abell] claim that Aloysius King, Editor of the Beacon, took these pictures from an airplane being flown by Barnard Smith of Leonardtown!!! Francis King, son of Aloysius moved to Texas with his mother, wife and children and located about ten miles from this car wash. He may not have known what was in his trash at the time, but they were originals. I [Mr. Abell] discovered these when I was treasurer of the chamber in the office at Mechanicsville with Rene Gott, secretary, about the late '80s. Kennedy Abell Jr."
