Black and white 3 1/2"h x 3 1/2"w photo of Gravelly Hills or Hamberg near Chaptico. This large home in three sections is in a ruinous state. This view is from the back of the house. The main house has a gable roof with a very steep angle and many missing shingles. There are two gable roof dormers on the left side of the roof that are completely boarded up. There are two openings that probably have no glass in the gable end of the roof peak. The clapboards have failed all over this end of the house. There are two windows on the second floor gable end; one is partially boarded up. On the first floor the openings are obscured. On the second floor of the long wall, there are three six over six windows. One is fairly close to the right corner and has its shutters closed. The other two windows are together near the left corner. On the first floor, on the right, there is a boarded up door. The two windows on the left are obscured by fruit trees. Between the main house and the center section is a large chimney. It was an outside end chimney until the addition was in place and now it is gathered in by that roof. The center section is two stories tall with a gable roof and has a large chimney on its gable end. There is a single dormer in that roof that has been boarded up, but that has failed and there is an opening suitable for birds. On the second floor under the eaves, there is four windows. On the first floor, only one window is visible because of the fruit trees. The small section has a gable roof, but that is all that is visible.
