Gravelly Hills after renovation 2Entry/Object ID
1995.001.2013Description
3 1/8"h x 3"w black and white photo of Gravelly Hills after its rescue by Hope Swann and Elizabeth Hoff. The house was all built at once in 1847. This photo showed the main block of the house, with a small amount of the middle and end blocks included. The house looked lovely, with dark shutters on the windows and doors and a wreath on the door. It probably was the Christmas season because the trees were completely bare. There were two dormers with six over six windows. On the second floor of the main block, there were two windows on the right and a window with some sort of panel under it on the left. The shutters framed the windows and the panel. The far right shutter was missing. There were two windows on the first floor and a big front door. The door had full length shutters. On the gable end, there was a narrow four over four window in the roof peak and a pair of six over six windows on each level. These windows did not have any shutters or curtains. One screened porch was visible on the back corner of the house. Half of the middle block is visible and just the porch roof on the small block.
