Description

3 1/8"h x 3"w black and white photo of the renovation of Gravelly Hills during its rescue by Hope Swann and Elizabeth Hoff. The house was all built at once in 1847. This photo showed the scaffolding erected around the damaged chimney and the middle block. Two windows were visible in the second floor of the middle block and two dormers with six over six windows had been added to its roof. One window was visible on the first floor. It either had new white siding or the existing and repaired siding had been painted. On the long wall of the main block, two six over six windows were visible on each floor. The damaged chimney appeared to be near completion. ******************************************* Text on verso: none
