Gravelly Hills during renovation 23Entry/Object ID
1995.001.1999Description
3 1/8"h x 3"w black and white photo of the renovation of Gravelly Hills during its rescue by Hope Swann and Elizabeth Hoff. The house was all built at once in 1847. This photo showed the scaffolding erected on the main and middle blocks, including the gable end of the main block, but all the scaffolding was off the roofs. The house had new white siding and both roofs appeared to be cedar shakes. There were six over six windows in the two dormers of the main block, three six over six windows on the second floor, and two six over six windows and a large door on the first floor. There were two dormers in the middle block, two windows on the second floor and one window and a door on the first floor. All the chimneys were repaired. The scaffolding was part way up the gable end.
