Gravelly Hills during renovation 24Entry/Object ID
1995.001.2000Description
3 1/8"h x 3"w black and white photo of the renovation of Gravelly Hills during its rescue by Hope Swann and Elizabeth Hoff. The house was all built at once in 1847. This photo showed the all three sections of the house from the point of view of the gable end of the small block. Scaffolding was erected on the main and middle blocks, but all the scaffolding was off the roofs. The house had new or repaired white siding and all roofs appeared to be cedar shakes. There were two dormers in the main block, three windows on the second floor, and two windows and a door on the first floor. There were two dormers in the middle block, two windows on the second floor and one window and a door on the first floor. On the gable end of the middle block, there was a six over six window near the roof peak and a door at the first floor corner. Most of the siding had been painted on the small block. There was a single door under the porch roof and two windows on the gable end, one above the other. All the chimneys were repaired.
