Gravelly Hills during renovation 25Entry/Object ID
1995.001.2001Description
3 1/8"h x 3"w black and white photo of the renovation of Gravelly Hills during its rescue by Hope Swann and Elizabeth Hoff. The house was all built at once in 1847. This photo showed the back of the main and middle blocks of the house before much work had been done. There was scaffolding on the main block to let workers get on the roof to work on two dormers. There were three windows visible on the second floor and two on the first floor. There was a large outside end chimney enfolded into the roof of the middle block aft of the roof peak. There was a single dormer in that roof nearest the main block. There were four windows on the second floor and probably three windows and a door on the first floor. Another chimney was on the left, quite near the roof peak. The siding was in poor condition.
