Gravelly Hills during renovation 27Entry/Object ID
1995.001.2003Description
3 1/8"h x 3"w sepia tone photo of the renovation of Gravelly Hills during its rescue by Hope Swann and Elizabeth Hoff. The house was all built at once in 1847. This photo showed the back of the main and part of the middle blocks of the house. The main block had a new roof and two dormers. There were three windows visible on the second floor and two on the first floor along with an eight panel door. There was a large outside end chimney on the left enfolded into the roof of the middle block aft of the roof peak. There was a single dormer in that roof nearest the main block, but it was smaller than the dormers in the main block. Each dormer had a six over six window. There was a vent stack to the left of the small dormer. There were three windows visible on the second floor of the middle block and two on the first floor. The siding had been repaired. There may have been a large trench in the foreground.
