3 1/8"h x 3"w sepia tone photo of Gravelly Hills during its rescue by Hope Swann and Elizabeth Hoff. The house was all built at once in 1847. This photo showed a closed up fireplace with a stove in front of it. A pleated metal door covered the hearth. There were round pilasters on the sides, an elaborate frieze and a simple mantel shelf. The stove used dryer vent material to convey smoke and fumes to the chimney.
