3 1/4"h x 5 3/8"w black and white photo of Great Mills School in its early years. It was a large gable roof building with entrance additions on each gable end. This view is of the front of the building. It may have had cedar shake siding. There was a single straight chimney a little to left of center in the roof and several vent fans scattered about. There was a double pediment over the center double door that had six lights in each door and a transom window. There was a pair of tall nine over nine windows on each side of the door; there may have been offices there. The entrance was seven steps above the ground. The classrooms on each side of the entrance had six twelve over twelve windows all in a row. In the gable end entrances there was one window visible. On the left end of the main building was an access stair for a basement. It is difficult to see, but there was a school bus on the far right.
