6" x 3 1/2" somewhat sepia toned photograph of H.S. Swann, president of the Charles County Fair Association. Mr. Swann was standing in a road or parking lot and did not looked thrilled with having his picture taken. He was wearing a light-colored straw hat with a dark hat band. He had on a white shirt, dark necktie with light spots, a tie clip, a dark sport coat with rather wide lapels, light-colored trousers, and a dark belt with a metal buckle. He wore rimless eyeglasses.
On the verso of the photo: in pencil, "Return to Geo. Morgan Knight, Jr., Leonardtown, Md." a black stamped "820" and a barely visible blue logo of the developing company with a duck? in a circle.
Text of accompanying article: "Picture sent in by George Morgan Knight, Jr. Corresp. Leonardtown Md. P.O. Box 216 St. Mary's Co. Leonardtown, Md. July 27 Mr. H. S. Swann, of Faulkner, who has just been elected president [of] the Charles County Fair Association for this year. The fair this year will take place on Sept. 27 and 28th. A series of dances are being held throughout Southern Maryland to raise funds to aid the association to hold the fair. Please return picture when copied."
