Description

3 3/8"h x 3 3/8"w color photo of the rear elevation of Hampton. It is a story and a half gable roofed structure with a large dormer containing four pairs of six light windows. A large inside end brick chimney is on the gable end of the main part of the house. The large metal? numbers "1748" were on the chimney. A gable roofed one story addition is on this end of the house. It has a triangular small dormer in the center of the cedar shake roof. There is a small cornice return at the eaves. Protruding brick work in the peak of the gable end forms a God's eye. There are two six over six double hung windows with dark shutters on the gable end. There is a pair of six light windows on the visible wall. The back porch is fully screened and has a striped awning in addition to the roof. A pair of brick chimneys is visible at the opposite gable end. There is landscaping around the house. It looks like a very comfortable house. In 1796, the property was called Narrow Neck. ******************************************* Text on verso: in blue ball point "Hampton 1748" and in blue stamp ink "June 1976"
