Black and white photograph 3 1/2"h x 3 1/2"w of the interior fireplace at Hawley Manor house on St. Jerome's Neck. The fireplace is in the center of the photo. The decoration--tile, perhaps? around the opening has been removed. There is an unattractive firescreen pulled away from the opening and fireplace tools in a stand at the side. There is a wood basket on the other side of the opening. There is a substantial mantel with five horizontal bands of various decoration above the opening. There is one brass? candlestick at each end of the mantel. Centered over the mantel is an oval mirror? with a filigree frame. On one side of the fireplace is a chair and on the other side a table supporting a small lamp with a six sided shade that has flowers on each panel. There is a chair rail on each side of the fireplace.
