Description

8 5/8"h x 6 7/8"w black and white photocopy of an old photo. There is no date, but the hair bow indicates the 19 teens. Below the image is written "Henrietta Hammett." A girl of perhaps ten or twelve is standing next to the photographer's chair. Her right hand is on the arm of the chair and her left arm is on Mrs. Hammett's shoulders. She wore a white dress, but the details are not visible. It had three quarter sleeves and ruffles in odd places. She had a locket on a chain around her neck, a bracelet on her right arm, and a giant white hair bow. The girl is not identified. Mrs. Hammett, seated in the chair, had dark hair parted in the middle and pulled back tight. She wore rimless glasses. Her clothing was not very visible because she had on the usual black dress with long sleeves and high neck; its details just disappear. There may have been lace trim on the collar and she may have had a simple pin at her neck. ********************************** Text on verso: none
