3 1/2"h x 3 1/2"w black and white photo of the Herring Creek house, also sometimes known as The Folly. John Hodges bought the house from J. Allan Coad and did major salvage and reconstruction. This is a view of the main building and the addition. The main building's porch roof was integrated into the house roof. There were four dormers in the main building. The gable end of the main building was clapboard with a pair of large brick chimneys. The gable roofed addition was a story and a half, but not nearly as tall as the main house. There was one gable roofed dormer barely visible in the roof. There were two six over six double hung windows on the first floor long side. On the gable end there was a single dark outside end chimney that crossed the roofline below the roof peak. On the first floor there was a six over six double hung window on each side of the chimney. Near the back wall and somewhat behind a shrub was a larger six over six window. The covered porch of the main building was barely visible. Behind the house was a square brick outbuilding with a pyramid roof. There was one six light window in the wall facing the photographer. There was lots of construction debris and a pile of dirt on the ground around the house.
