Black and white 3 1/2"h x 3 1/2"w photo of the original Holy Face Church, now used as a barn. It was a simple gable roof building with a crude square bell tower on the front gable end. The door into the tower is on the side and is tall and narrow. There is an opening on the second floor front of the tower with a simple pediment above it, but the wood cover is closed. The roof of the tower is a shed roof sloping up toward the main part of the building. It looks quite odd. There is a large opening with a pediment to the right of the tower on the second floor of the gable end of the building. On the long side of the church is first an opening that could have been a door, two tall narrow openings that were probably windows, and another opening that was probably a door. All the openings probably have a pediment above them, but it is difficult to tell. Each opening is covered completely with wood or sheet metal. Long poles hold the first and third openings closed. At the tower end, there is a long pole that runs from the corner of the tower out to a large X of poles near the corner of the main building. This contraption appears to be many feet above the ground. There is also a large white container that may be a watering trough. At the far end of the building is another tall gable roof structure at right angles to the church/barn. It may be a corn crib. There is a sagging fence around the assembleage. The church/barn has not seen paint for years.
