Landscape orientation of the photo. This is a photo of Veronica Reid's home in 1940. This house is one and one-half stories with a gable roof and two visible gable roof dormers. There are two outside end chimneys on the left side of the house and one lightening rod on each end of the roof peak. The windows in the dormers are six over six double hung; the left window is open on the bottom. The shade on that window has blown out a little in the breeze. The condition of the roof is very poor, especially where it slopes out over the porch. There is a three bay porch. There are two double hung windows with dark shutters on the first floor on the left; it is not possible to tell the number of lights. There is a screened door to the right. The porch floor and steps are obscured by a picket fence that crosses from edge to edge in the picture. One assumes there is a gate in front of the door. The well is outside the fence on the left side of the house. Behind the well and behind the fence is a small free standing clapboard building with a gable roof, a single door without lights, and a shingle roof. Well behind the house and to the right is another small outbuilding. This one appears to have a metal roof.Collection
