House at Salisbury PlainsEntry/Object ID
1980.001.0013Description
This 5"h x 7"w color? photo is of an old house built on the Salisbury Plains property. It was a gable roof house with a long slope incorporating a porch on each long side. The brick was laid in Flemish bond. This view was of the gable end of the ruined building. The brick went up to the roof peak, but the sides of the porch roof were done in clapboard. There were two windows in the roof peak. There do not appear to have been any windows on the first floor. The roof had fallen away on the left and was threatening to do so on the right because the supporting posts were gone. If this was a color photo, it has faded away to sepia tones.
