The pages included the name and Post Office of an account holder and sometimes notes about whose permission must be sought for withdrawals. The first and third books did not have page numbers and the pages were not alphabetical by name. Only two sheets in the third book carry numbers that might be construed as account numbers. My guess is that some entries in these books may also appear in red in the deposit ledgers. Interest on the accounts was credited in January and July.
