8 1/2"h x 10 1/2"w black and white photographic reproduction on foam core board. It was a large two and a half story Victorian building that was a gas station and store and probably living quarters above. It had white clapboard siding and dark shutters and trim. A pair of large gables topped the building, each with a Palladian window. Below the window on the right was a sign with a "W" in a circle, "John A. Fowler & Sons" in a white band, and "WItts Shoes" underneath. On the second floor there were two windows under one gable and three windows under the other, all with dark shutters. A long hipped roof covered a five bay porch with a large display bay window on each end and a central entry door with a window on each side. On the left display bay was the same sign: a "W" in a circle, "John A. Fowler & Sons" in a white band, and "WItts Shoes" underneath. There were two gas pumps out front, one dark and one light. Each had a glass globe above with "Sinclair Gasoline" in a band around the edge and "HC" in the middle. Mr. Fowler stood on the concrete island that held the pumps. Above the island was a large circular metal sign in a square "frame" with lights to advertise Sinclair Gasoline. Dr. Guyther used this image in an early presentation on the northern part of the county.
