J. Allan Coad at a political rallyEntry/Object ID
2010.005.0002Description
Sepia-tone 6 5/8"h x 9 1/2"w photo of a large group of men posed on the side of a house; it may be Porto Bello. Just behind the group is a painted brick wing with shutters on some windows; another piece of the house is hidden by trees. Serving tables and servers are just behind the group and many guests are eating. Many also are wearing paper party hats such as the ones found in party crackers. I am fairly sure this is a political rally; it may be for J. Allan Coad who eventually was a member of the Maryland Senate. He is standing in the middle of the photo with his hands on his hips. He has on a dark bow tie and glasses. The man next to him may be from up the road--he does not have on a vest and virtually everyone else does. The photo is mounted on a gray board. On the bottom part of the "frame" are the initials G F W; the set on the right says Sr. and the set on the left says Jr. Wathen Sr. is identified in the photo by a check mark above his head. Wathen Jr. could be one of several people above the mark on the "frame."
