Description

This is a political rally; it may be for J. Allan Coad. The guests are in a field above the St. Mary's River, probably enjoying crabs and oysters. On the right side of the photo, near the edge of the bluff, are African-American musicians. Mr. Coad eventually was a member of the Maryland Senate. The initials G F W are written in blue ink on the photo's mounting paper. On the image itself is a blue ball point arrow pointing to a man with his back to the camera. Someone had sharp eyes. ***************************************************** Text on verso: in blue ball point pen "Wathen"
