Dr. Guyther was a family physician in Saint Mary's County for many years. He was always interested in the county's history, especially the north county, since he made his home in Mechanicsville. He was also interested in writing and publishing and eventually published four books:
This collection contains many photos, some mounted for exhibits, research on the history of Mechanicsville, Charlotte Hall, and the Charlotte Hall School. There are plats of a town to be called Charlottesville.Collection
